An existing web project that is about 10 years old is to be moved from the current server to a new server. The main reason for the move is the relatively high costs for hosting on the old server, which are no longer up to date. The old server is hosted by OVH, the new one by 1&1. The project is based on LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). The current server at OVH runs: - Debian GNU/Linux 7.1 - Apache/2.2.22 - MySQL 14.14 Distrib 5.5.31 - PHP 5.4.4-14+deb7u4 (symfony version 1.4.13) The Linux distribution on the new server is relatively free to choose. However, it is important that there is downward compatibility and that the project runs on the new server as it did on the old server. Only the data that is also needed for the operation of the project should be migrated. Therefore, first determine how much storage space is needed on the new server.
