Build an App: Cashademic

We are a team of students working diligently to create a product that is viable for the iOS app store and can be successful. We are currently working on a business plan and have worked to develop the product, but would like to take a next step to make that product a reality. Our product, generally, is a smartphone application whose primary purpose is to help kids to study in an entertaining way. This app has multiple pages and game modes that make it an engaging and user-friendly service Like most smartphone applications, to begin using it, you will need to login and register with an account and create a profile. This account will be verified through the use of an email and a phone number. Once the account is verified, you will choose your classes and select your grade level. At this point, it will lead you to a homepage that has our logo in the top middle of the screen, with a profile picture on the top left and the number of points you have on the top right. Right beneath these, a list of the classes will lay there, with links to click on for each of the classes. Beneath that is the store, where points can be exchanged for a variety of different prizes. When clicking on a specific class, it will open up to a list of all of the different units and sections of work that can be done for each subject. For history classes, it will be organized chronologically, for math, science, world language, and business classes, it will be organized by magnitude of difficulty and each subject’s ability to grow. For English classes, there will be two sections, one for overviews on books commonly read by high school students, and one on English concepts and literary devices. Once you pick a section, it will bring you to the games. There will be two types: Single-player and online multiplayer. The games for singleplayer will be Timed Multiple Choice, Ultimatum, and The Odyssey. The games for multiplayer will be Lightning Round and King of the Class. Each of the games have specific rules and will give varied point values depending upon performance. Many of the games will only be unlockable through the premium program that will be offered, titled Cashademic First-Class. It is a subscription service that is renewable monthly that permits access to The Odyssey and King of the Class, along with multiplying point values per activity completed, which makes it easier for First-Class members to get them. Also, there are extra prizes in the store that you can get as a First-Class member. Furthermore, ad revenue will be gone for anyone who decides to accentuate their studying experience through Cashademic First Class. In addition to this subscription service, ad revenue should be a major driver of growth. As an app that provides incentives to students to keep them studying, it is important to have strong, consistent sources of incomes. The prizes that we will be providing students will vary based on which businesses are sponsoring us at the time. Furthermore, there will be even larger prizes for kids who truly show commitment to the game that will reward them with cash, payed to them through Paypal. Whether or not companies will buy questions in order to grant us revenue remains to be seen. Market research will grant us the answer to this question. Another way to make easy income would be to be able to watch video ads in order to earn points, but watching video ads should grant very little points, and there should only be a few videos that can be watched per day, as to prevent kids from amassing points from just continually watching videos. Ads will typically be at the bottom of the screen, as to not interfere with kids playing the app, because if ads end up directly interrupting the game, it could turn a lot of people off of the game as it will be distracting and unpleasant to look at.
