Update a react-native android and iOS app

Long story short I've inherited an app that hasn't been updated in over a year, the firebase instance backing it has vanished (former developers private account I believe). I need to update the firebase details, update the app to the latest react native (if possible) and build it. Currently running into challenges with react package changes and API levels. The code is on Github and this project is considered done when I can checkout the updated code to my Mac and build both the android and iOS versions with a minimum of fuss.
