ONIX is an XML-based standard for book metadata, usually provided by publishers to booksellers with information about their products. More info here [login to view URL] and here [login to view URL]
The standards are well defined, and there are plenty of scripts out there, but there does not seem to be an easy way to import to a database without knowing XML and XSLT.
This should be relatively straight forward for someone that has worked with Onix before.
I use MySQL under Apache on UBUNTU. There is one database running for the CRM (Xentral).
There are 2 tasks.
First, I need to import a huge Onix Standard 2.26 File Package into MySQL. Importent: Keep/maintain the ONIX format in the MySQL (we will provide you with all the data)
The initial Onix file is very large (97 GB, 1Mio. + product lines).
The second Task ist o create a cronjob which is asking around every 15 minutes a foreign ftp-server for new files/data updates.
The new files must be downloaded, unpacked and imported automatically to MySQL.
Then the database must even automatically be filtered and exported to .csv format. Further the .csv file must be imported to the CRM database using the importer module (php) from the CRM (XENTRAL).
Projectfiles we will provide after hiring.
