hello, i'm a senior linux administrator in a hosting company i'm using nginx since 2008 so all you described is possible except onee thing. apps in docker should run in some directory OR you will need as many domains as many dockers you have lets chat :)

I would create a configuration for a reverse proxy in ngnix, I would create some containers with scale option using Docker and DockerCompose and finally I would test all the flow.
