Hi,
I have developed a very large web application (regarding online assessments) in ASP (classic ASP not ASPX) and SQL Server 2005. The application has ~ 200 .asp pages and the database has ~50 tables and ~200 stored procedures.
The application is working well. However when the application is used for some time after installation (so the database grows) and/or there are a lot of concurrent users, the application becomes **very** slow, some pages go in timeout and the server CPU is always 100% (the application is hosted on its own dedicated server, together with SQL 2005).
While I am redeveloping some .asp pages for better performances, I also noted the tables in the database do not have indexes, so this may be one of the causes of poor performances. I'm not fluent in optimizing SQL tables and stored procedures, so I am looking for a **very** expert SQL database optimizer that can help me to improve the application.
The selected coder should know **very well** classic asp, SQL 2005, stored procedures, indexes, keys, optimization, normalization, etc. He/she will receive a Remote Desktop access to a demo server, where he/she can view the application source code and the database.
The database should be optimized (e.g. adding indexes) so that it can become quicker even with a lot of users. The coder may also recode .asp pages, if he/she thinks this would improve performances. Also stored procedures should be analyzed and optimized. Of course, in order to do this work, the coder should understand **very well** the logic of the application.
A coder with a Microsoft Certification in SQL Server is preferred.
