3DS File Translator

I have been developing a 3D Scene exchange library and I need a 3DS file format translator for this library. The library defines 3D scene blocks (nodes, objects, positions, textures, materials, cameras, lights) and stores them as a tree connecting the different nodes (like connecting the nodes to their object, position and material). This library can be downloaded from www.scenecarrier.org. This library also immplements a Collada XML ([login to view URL]) importer and exporter. What I need is a 3DS importer and exporter that follow the same methodology of the collada importer and exporter (SCColladaExporter & SCColladaImporter). The translator needs to support the hierarchy structure of the scene, TriMesh objects with their positions (not animation), materials and textures, and cameras and lights. Although the library in the website ([login to view URL]) is working and has been tested, it is not the final library that will be used for the project. The final library includes the definition of a Standard Material, a Multi Material, a Bitmap Texture and a Layered Texture. The 3ds file format supports all of these material and texture types (inside 3ds max) and I need that they are supported by this 3DS file translator to SceneCarrier. The library includes the source code of a 3ds max plugin that saves and loads SCB (SceneCarrier Binary file format) files, and a command line application can be used to transform these scb files to 3ds files, and 3ds files to scb files (sample command line application will be included also). To test the application I will use a few 3ds files, that will be converted to SCB, and then to 3ds again using the command line application. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Standard C++ code Test command line application in Win2000 or XP.
