Online Digital Asset management System

ONLINE ASSET MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ONLINE LIBRARY OF CORPORATE IMAGES & FILES) We need to give our client a cost for an online digital asset management system. This is really an online image portfolio that besides JPG, can also handle PDF, EPS and .DOC files. The company is worldwide and have many divisions. We want a system that we can upload and manage an online library for them, in which users can login and search and download images & files. The images will be uploaded and catalogued by 3 admin only. Users must be able to search for image and files, preview files as thumbnails and then be able to select the resolution (and possibly format) that they wish to download the files in. Login must be secure and users must be able to be tracked on when and what they downloaded. They system will be continually updated with new files and images, and we also want to be able to inform the database vie e-mail through the site when we uploads images of interest. We will be attaching keywords to the images and allocating what division etc they fall under etc. A caption will also be included with each image or file. Ideally we would like a system that we can upload the image and it will resize the image automatically for the thumbnail, and various resolutoins to be downloaded. System must also have the ability to highlight new images that have been uploaded. And we also want a "shopping cart" or "Lightbox" system that users can add images to a list that they want to download and images that they have downloaded can be viewable in their own history. Similar to sites such as www.photodisc.com. DECIDING ON DIRECTION: We are costing this at the moment and deciding whether to buy and off-the-shelf solution such as EXTENSIS PORTFOLIO ([login to view URL]) or to build one through a programmer here on Rentacoder. PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER THIS AS A DEFINITE PROJECT AS YET! ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Platform can be chosen to best suit the project. We can pretty much choose the host on which this needs to sit. So we can choose the best system to suit this. The system will probably have in the region of 40 000 images and files at the most.
