Specs for travel site I am looking for someone to build a travel blog site It will basically be a site where users can signup and create their own travel blog to keep track of their travels. It will need to be written from scratch due to some unique features in PHP/MySQL preferably. The site will start of as a travel blog but will eventually be expanded when the user base grows. Feautres: User signup with email confirmation. The blog url with need to be something like [login to view URL] All blogging URLs need to be search engine friendly i.e. [login to view URL] this can be achieved by either mod rewrite or creating static pages. Users can upload unlimited photos. These need to be resized in the blog and clicking on the image will display the full size pic Any visitor can subscribe to a blog simbple by entering their email and clicking on a confirmation link, when ever a new post is made to that blog an email will be sent to all people subscribed to it, including a link to opt out of the subscription. Also blog owners can send subscription requests to their friends/family email addresses Blog owners have the option of turning on bog comments Every blog post is pinged to the [login to view URL] and google blog search Search engine friendly directory of all countries and blogs for example if someone posted about a visit in bangkok it will be listed in the directory under [login to view URL] along side all the other blogs about bangkok The latest blog posts should be visible on the homepage. The whole site needs to be search engine friendly i.e. Search engine friendly titles and no bloated html code.. Users can download all their photos as a zip file, this should be limited to 3 times a month to limit bandwidth usage. The blog hosting site also needs a design which can easily integrate adverts throughout, to start off with no adverts will be displayed. A logo for the domain is also required.. A landing page also needs to be designed to 'sell' the site to potential bloggers, this should include all the key features of the site and basically encourage the users to signup Links page – allow people to submit reciprocal links. Webmasters submit their site URL, Title, Description, category and location of my link. I can then approve/deny them in an admin area as well as add categories. The url for links pages should be [login to view URL] Each user has their own photo gallery i.e. [login to view URL] people can click on thumbnails to view a larger image if the user has posted the image to a certain blog post a link to that post should be included. The next part of the blog system is the most complex and will need to be researched prior to building the site. Users can post their location. For example if they are currently in bangkok they will select thailand from a country list, then the state or area then the city from a city list. This data needs to be found somewhere on the internet i.e. A list of countries then a list of all areas in the country then finally all cities and towns within the country. Also if a city or state doesn't exist in the drop down menu they will be able to add it manually, this should then be viewable by all users, therefore users will be building the database themselves. The most difficult part of the blog system as far as i can tell is having an interactive map, this is available to all users and is basically a world map showing the locations that the blogger has posted about. Several sites already do this such as [login to view URL] exactly how this will be achieved will also need to be thoroughly researched. Each user will have a profile page which they can add text to, the map should be shown on this page and preferably be a large image This project will be given to the programmer who has understood exactly what I need or can give me any ideas for other features.
