Finding solution for an error editing main page with php

I am facing some strange problem with my shopping script running on php. In the admin panel there is a tab allowing me to edit the main page central block content, alongside the title and the meta-data. After making some changes to the title or the page content and pressing the 'save' button it just goes to its initial state. I guess it is affected by updating the php version on the server on the 5 of September 2011. The actual version of php is 5.2.17, the shopping script I am using is CScart 2.0.5.
