Description of the project Migrate an existing Joomla 1.0.15 website to a new Joomla 3.2 site with a new template and compatible components Current website (Joomla 1.0.15) 1) Backend Language: -English 2) Frontend Language: -English and French 3) Components currently installed and other information: -JoomFish (French version is incomplete) -SOBI2 (Used as a member directory per country. Not too many) -Pony Gallery ML (only a few pictures. Not really used) -Sponsors and partners rotating banners -Website has links to publications in PDF _Website has links to registration forms for courses in PDF and plain HTML Requirements for the new website (Joomla 3.2) 1) Backend Language: -English 2) Frontend Language: -English and French 3) Required Components: -One for multi language (JoomFish or other) -Directory component for members (SOBI or other) -Gallery component (no need to migrate the current pictures) -Component to create and manage forms -Component to manage course/congress registrations Important remarks: -We already have a template that we have purchased and would like to use -The content of the current website will need to be migrated to the new one by the freelancer and all navigation and links need to be working -We will work on migrating the PDF forms to the new form management component once the website is ready -We will populate the picture gallery once the website is ready. -Translation of content will be done by us. Configuration of the translation plugin needs to be done by the freelancer. -If using paid components please advise so that we can buy the licenses

Hi, I can see that you cancelled your 1.5->2.5 project to replace it by a 1.5->3.2 project. for the most part it doesn't make a difference provided that the extensions you plan on using are compatible with 3.2. Like I said in my previous bid I have been working with Joomla developing sites since 2008. I'm therefore skilled and qualified to deliver your project on time and budget. Again for your new site I would recommend using Seblod, it's a free, stable, extension that uses and extends the Joomla data structure, therefore additional plugins do work with Seblod. The learning curve is steeper than Sobi but it's much more flexible. It will allow you to handle all requirements listed in section 3). It has some multi-language functionality too or can be use with Joomfish. It will allow to create one or several directories, you can build image galleries, you can create forms, including registration forms. It's a powerful and flexible Content Construction Kit. I have a lot of experience with it and lately I have eliminated a lot of other extensions on Joomla sites by using Seblod. I understand that you have already selected a template, not a problem. I will take care of migrating your content, articles, categories, users, probably using J2XML as it is the tool that has worked the best for me lately and I will setup the menus and verify the links, especially internal ones. However allow me to tell you that someone who really wants to make a serious bid on your project has to know the size of your existing site. The most difficult part of such projects is the migration of data and that because from Joomla 1 to Joomla 3 there are many differences on how data is stored in database. And at this point allow me to tell you that you have to know (if you already don't know) that your project here is not only to transfer article titles and content only, there are a lot other trully important data to be transfered (seo texts, aliases, keywords, tags etc) and you have to make sure the freelancer you will pick is going to be sensitive on this and not just try to give you a new "working" site to take your money ignoring the important details under the surface of the project!
