We have the skeleton code for a forum based website and we would like the following objectives to be added in. Objective 1 We would like to extend the site’s “profile” page to capture and store extra user data that we can use for marketing purposes. Although we don’t want to force users to complete all the extra form fields we do want to maximise the chances that they will choose to do so. We therefore want client-side validation to be as friendly and helpful as possible. We are also committed to data security and accuracy. Users should therefore be able to update their data at any time. The login process should be made more secure i.e salting the passwords. The password when signing up should also be masked. The profile page should include fields to collect additional data from the user, e.g. DOB, Address, email, phone number and social media usernames (snapchat, twitter, facebook) These fields also need to have client and server side validation. The client side validation should be user friendly. Objective 2 We would like a “merchandise” section where users can add Robin’s Nest themed items to a basket and keep track of total cost. Login should not be necessary for this page and it should be accessible directly from the home page. We would value an MVC implementation as we have heard it is easier to maintain. We would also like the contents of a user’s basket to be remembered between visits. (The transaction itself need not be processed as we plan to handle this via an established external company like PayPal.) Should be written using AngluarJS and be connected to the Robins Nest homepage. Session cookies also need to be implemented, so that when the user closes their browser and returns to the site, products originally in the basket are still there. Also add functionality that will allow the user to checkout using PayPal, however link to a mock PayPal invoice. Objective 3 We would like a “location” section where a user can see the geolocation of all other users on a map. They should also be able to share their own location (if they want to). (This should use Google Maps API) Users’ friends should appear in a different colour on the map, and extra information (including their name and the time/date and their social media names.) should be available when they are clicked on. Other users should appear in a different colour and should say anonymous if they are clicked on. Can you take any steps to avoid excluding users with non-GPS devices or older browsers? (I.e use their wifi location.) The users location should be a green marker, their friends should be blue and the anonymous should be black. Objective 4 We would like a “games” section where users can play a simple 3D game. We have secured the permission of Mark Pilgrim to use his implementation of the Halma board game. We would like you to convert the visualisation of the board and pieces from 2D to 3D. The user should be able to rotate around the board and select and move the 3D pieces. Can you take any steps to ensure users with older (or mobile) browsers can still play? We would also like users to have access to a “high scores” table, shared across all users who play, once they complete the game. I will provide the [login to view URL] 2d game that needs to be converted into 3d using [login to view URL] – If you want to use something else like [login to view URL], that’s fine, but why? Summary On the high score table for the game it should include the name (username that’s logged in), the score and the location from objective 2 (if given) On the high score table – if you click on the username, you can add as a friend. Under the high score table have a button that links to the merchandise page. On objective 2 – when you click on the friend it should show the facebook, snapchat, and twitter username of the person (if they provide it on objective 1) Code should be commented well. The SQL tables can be made on localhost and then transferred later.
