Build a highly individualized and complex website with PHP

Voluno is an international non-profit organization with the aim of supporting development organizations from all over the world and from various different fields of human development. Our basic service is to connect volunteers with development organizations to which the volunteers can then donate their time and skills through online volunteering. However, once the connection has been established, many additional opportunities arise to help not only development organizations but also volunteers. We intend to realize all of these additional services as well, to provide the most beneficial experience possible to all participants. Additionally, we follow a network philosophy of strong participation and ownership. In practice, this means that our many members need to be able to easily get informed and participate in the organization Voluno itself. All of the above activities need to take place or at least be facilitated through our website, which is thus paramount to our success. The PHP developer will be part of a small team of developers building, testing and maintaining a website and intranet ([login to view URL]) for several different user types and many different and interlinked features. These include a social network, a forum system, a simple CMS and an intranet for development organizations, a platform for the different Voluno services and roles (tasks, trainings, advice, internships and agency), a newsletter and notification system, a rating system, a knowledge database, a calendar and more.
