this isn't a complex request by any means. in fact, all the functionality exists using existing free themes and plugins. i don't care if you use buddypress, one of the many portfolio themes, multi-sites, etc. to get this job done. i just don't have the time to select and choose from all the available options and combinations because there are so many out there. clean, modern, image-less layout front end user sign up users profile contains a picture, small amount of text, the team to which they belong, and a thumbnail listing of their projects. the picture and text are front end editable by them. team info is selectable by the user, but must be approved by the leader for the team they chose. team leaders are designated by the site admin using the dashboard. team leaders can also use the dashboard to approve team members. users can create and edit projects via the front end. projects will include a title, description, pictures/videos/documents (one picture chosen as thumbnail for profile page), small entry blog, 5 drop down menu choices, and 1 number slider. users can invite other users to collaborate on their projects which gives them edit rights. projects can be rated by other users in 2 categories which are shown on the project page to all users. users can use a front end search to query all the data of each project, by user, or by teams team leaders can send a request to another team. each team member receives the request, but only the team leader can approve it. these requests can include dates, references to other users or their projects. general guest front page shows any messages posted by the site admin, the latest team requests, and thumbnails of the projects updated most recently. once signed in, front page widget will also display any messages sent by their team leader.
