Customize a website with K2 and JA template

There is already a website with Joomlart theme directory and some Joomlart module like K2 extra fields. i want to extent the website functionality and JA K2 filter to match the structure below.

the extra field cat and sub cat for all places are the same and when you create an item for a place you assign to it a lat,long,and an extra field cat and sub cat.

What i need is extend the JA K2 filter module(already present) in order to be filtered on extra field cat or sub in an accordion like style as shown in the picture.

I dont mind if the current structure changes to something else i am open to suggestions but the final output should be the following.

I need when you select a category from the main menu to be able to show all items of that category and to be able to filter them with categories and subcategories in an accordion style module.
