Download online spreadsheet, process it to insert info in mysql database

We need to download a file and insert data in a database, after some processing. We need a php/mysql script to do the job. The script would do following tasks : 1) Get the file from the website, via curl or whatever. 2) Analyze the data to retrieve appropriate information, as described below. 3) Inject the data in the database, after saving the existing information Analyze the data : as you will see the spreadsheet has 15 columns, A to I. Columns B to I do not need processing, the information can be stored as is. The processing is on column A, identity. In this field, we have the name of the person, possible alias(es), nationality, DOB, etc.. The most important information to process is the name and the aliases. The database should have an alias table, and a main table (same table as existing + one field ‘NAME’), or an aliases table, a names table, and the main table (existing). To get the alias(es), if any, the program would probably use regular expressions, because the presentation is not always exactly the same. We need a very basic demo form to show a simple search (LIKE operator) on names and aliases to find possible names : the user inputs a name, and the form will return matches.
