We have a WordPress plugin that takes news articles from an API and adds them as posts within WordPress.
I'd like to find a freelancer to continue this work on the following :-
1) Plugin Settings Update - At present the news articles are mapped to a single category e.g. https://api_url/local_news => "local news category". I'd like to expand this so that multiple "urls" can be mapped each to a single category. e.g. https://api_url/local_news => "local news category" & https://api_url/national_news => "national news category" & https://api_url/funny_news => "funny news category". This work would involve updating settings HTML, javascript and interface with the WordPress ajax system so as to fetch the list of possible urls.
2) Core System Update - At present the plugin does all the work required to create the new posts, thumbnails and users. This core functionality would not have to be changed, however the way this is called would have to account for the above multiple urls. Also a review of when the sync takes place is needed. At present this is one page access, I'm wondering if it would be better as a schedule task.
This is technical programming - PHP, WordPress, javascript, Ajax, etc, etc. It is not suitable for a designer or someone who only "uses" WordPress.
I appreciate freelancers will require more details before starting. I will also require freelancers to sign an NDA.
