Genetic algorithms provide a method of doing optimisation. The problem here is to examine how genetic algorithm can be used in performing HCM (Hard c-means) clustering for iris data. Iris consists of 150 patterns belonging to 3 species of iris, with 50 patterns in each class. Each of the patterns is described by 4 real valued features: petal-length, petal-width, sepal-length, and sepal-width. You have to write your own GA code (using visual studio C++ 2003) to solve this problem. Do not use existing simulator. Also you can not draw conclusions from doing just one simulation (experiment). You have to base your conclusion on averages and variances. Give a complete discussion on your experimental procedure. Discuss the performances using the two schemas. Report layout Report should be six sizes of A4. May include tables, diagrams and code concepts. Report should consist of the following sections: 1. overview: give brief description of the approach adopted 2. model design: describe any data pre processing that your GA model carried out (what and why) 3. results 4. Discussion: discuss results, what could have been done differently.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
