Write some Software

This position has been created to complete a current project developing portable fluorimeter technologies. The successful candidate will be required to use detector specific GUIs from two hand held fluorimeter instruments to design and create a user interface program(s) that can: - Prompt the user to take basic measurements - Correct for background fluorescence by taking blank readings - Automatically subtracting blanks from measured samples to display only corrected spectrum - Perform basic calculation algorithms on acquired spectrums that relate fluorescence intensity to concentration based on established calibration curves - Present data in user friendly and well organized manner - Store data in variety of formats for display or manipulation in excel. The candidate will be working closely with the engineering team at the University of Waterloo and Dr. Aaron Witham at EBPI and should be amenable to make changes to functions or display options based on initial testing requirements. The contract is for one (1) month or until the termination of the project. Some travel to the University of Waterloo is required initially for setup meetings and project description, but candidate can work remotely during the majority of the project to complete required tasks. Weekly progress reports must be presented to the team. Defined deliverables will be set and agreed upon by the successful applicant prior to starting the project.
