The purpose of this paper is to develop a practice proposition derived from a grand, a middle-range, or a prescriptive theory and to describe how this practice proposition has the potential to guide nursing practice in a specified setting. This paper is due on or before the twelfth week of class. In order to assist students to develop their thinking related to the paper, the following guidelines have been established. It is suggested that the proposition be identified and an outline of the paper be completed; thus, faculty will have the opportunity to provide feedback. The following are suggested guidelines for organizing the paper 1. Introduction 2. Identification of the proposition and identification of the theory from which the proposition was derived. 3. Identify at least two possible strengths and weaknesses associated with the use of this proposition. 7. Summary that includes the future use of this proposition (research or practice). 8.
