The purpose of the script is to assemble a list of words using buttons and then copy them to the clipboard so that they can be “paste” into another program.
Script will NOT be used online.
Script will run on a Mac OS (locally on a computer)
8 topic/categories (approximately 200 words/text total combined in all categories)
1 topic/category list will be displayed centered permanently across the top of screen (2-3 columns)
1 topic/category list will be displayed permanently on the left side of screen (2-3 columns)
The remaining 6 categories/topics will be displayed as expandable lists in the center portion of the screen.
EACH WORD/TEXT will be displayed as individual clickable buttons.
User will select one of the remaining 6 topics and that list will expand, displaying all text underneath it (2-4 columns)
After user is finished with 1 topic, he may select a 2nd topic. The first topic will collapse and 2nd will expand
User will select a variety of buttons “words/texts” throughout the screen.
(the “topic/category” will also be included in the list of captured text) 1st and 2nd topic if selected.
Each of the selected buttons should change appearance as to signify it has been selected or deselected.
After completion of selecting text/buttons. User will press “COPY” button:
ALL the selected text will be summarized on screen with 1 space “ “ in between each word.
ALL the selected text will be automatically “copied” to computer’s clipboard with 1 space “ “ in between each word.
The user will then go to another program and “paste” the text.
User will return to script and press a “Reset” button in order clear the screen to start the process again.
Additional requirements:
Lists must be editable/modifiable
Font should be large or extra-large sized for ease of selection (not small text)
All text columns and expanded text should make good use of space, maximized to be visible on a standard 15” computer screen (1440 x 900 pixels )
Copied text will have a hierarchy: Category 1 texts will be listed 1st, Category 2 listed second and so on.
