Choose the first season of one sitcom or drama from one of the following networks (ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, HBO, SHOWTIME, STARZ, COMEDY CENTRAL, FX, AMC, TVLAND, NETFLIX, HULU or AMAZON) and write an analysis of the series’ pilot and first season. addressing the following: *Who is/are the Creator(s)? What have the done (if anything) before their success with the creation of this show? *Title of Show and Format (single-camera sitcom, multi-camera sitcom, animated sitcom, or one-hour drama) *What Type of Show (Procedural, Episodic, Serialized, Anthology, Combination of more than one thing?) *Is your series non-linear? If so, give an example how it is? *Series Logline: (30 words or less summarizing the series – lead character(s), setting, reoccurring conflict) *Tone of your show (can be compared to tone of a similar show) *Themes explored throughout the first season (ex. MODERN FAMILY explores the themes of marriage and parenthood) *Overall story arc of Season One *Main Character(s) – 2 to 4 of them What character types (if any) do they reflect from the Powerpoints? What are their backstories and personalities? *What is the reoccurring source(s) of conflict of the show? Remember: the conflicts are what create episodes of the show. *What is your Pilot story (A storyline, act break cliffhangers and additional B and C storylines (if applicable)? *Very brief summary of episodes from Season One finally answering a certain amount of questions that resolve around TV genres and film
