It’s been nearly two decades in journalism. Having involved in writing and design. These years have given me a strong foundation to build my growth on – a foundation defined and cemented by respect for deadlines, sensitivity to local atmosphere, organizational dynamics, an eye for aesthetics and the basic, yet most important rule of saying it all without words. Having begun my career as an amateur, I was thrown into the fire at India’s once leading and revolutionary daily, The Indian Express. My journey later saw me work off-site for international clients and then, with The Times of India, where was given the free hand to execute my idea of having special local features pages which were defined largely by topical graphics and logos that stamped themselves on readers’ minds. A bigger role brought me to Muscat Daily, where I currently lead a small team of designers. It’s a daily mix of digging from experience, learning, unlearning and pushing the boundaries.
