I am a Filemaker Developer with several years experience with relational database design, API integrations with third party services, experienced with several plugins, and enjoy interesting projects. I have worked on projects large and small including large medical databases with several API integrations, multiple plugins, security, monitoring, and lots of advanced techniques to a simple application that provides advice about how much money a photographer can make based on what services they offer and deducting expenses. Besides working with Filemaker I also have experience in several other programming languages such as Objective C (iOS and Mac OS applications), XML, JSON, Batch and Bash Scripting, HL7 (CCA and CCD), and Python. These other languages have helped me to offer more features to my Filemaker clients through the use of plugins, API's, and other tricks I have found while looking for innovative solutions. Some improvements I have made to a solution include: 1. Using Twilio’s SMS gateway API for sending SMS. 2. Using Twilio API to send automated voice calls (similar to robo calls). 3. Using base elements plugin and a python script to send HTML emails with content from Filemaker records passed in to the script. 4. Using Filemaker’s native http post to submit help tickets to a help desk solution. 5. Setup a self hosted URL shortener, to take a Filemaker URL like this one fmp://example.com/myDatabase?script=myScript&param=myParameters and shorten the url to http://example.com/myKeyword. This was done to help clean up transactional SMS notifications that had the Filemaker link. 5. Integration with a 3rd party app to scan drivers licenses and parse out the details of the drivers license to populate field in Filemaker. 6. Launching Apple Remote Desktop or Microsoft Remote Desktop to remotely control and view remote servers from a Mac. 7. Use of popovers and portals to condense screens and make data easier to view. 8. Complete theme redesign of an entire solutions with over 200 layouts. I took a slightly dated Filemaker Solution and applied a new theme and customized the theme to create a modern looking solution that is attracting customers. I enjoy working on different projects that present different challenges. I also enjoy being able to share my knowledge with others. I started out under the wings of a developer with 20 years experience and I was only the app tester. After a few months a lot of suggestions to the developer we started to connect more and he could see I had an eye for design and functionality. He started by showing me a few things here and there and finally after a year I started a developers program and have not looked back. I would like to be able to help other developers start out to gain the experience and drive to continue developing.
