I am currently a PhD student in Instructional Systems. Before starting my PhD, I earned a BA in English-Persian Translation at Azad University and an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language at Allameh Tabataba’i University in Tehran. Subsequently, I taught English to students in Iran for 15 years- both in person and online- and am the author of Word Elite, a textbook for English learners. I have experience creating websites with Squarespace and WIX. I also led a project to develop asynchronous courses to help students improve their language skills online. I am currently studying how games and other innovative instructional technologies can enhance students’ mastery of cognitive and metacognitive skills required in the 21st Century. I wish to increase my understanding of how nations and cultures adapt and adopt new instructional methods.
