I have extensive experience conducting and editing academic research, and am very well-versed in qualitative methods. As a Masters candidate at the University of British Columbia, I won several awards including a "best article award" for a paper that was published as the lead article in the Canadian Review of Sociology, and an "outstanding graduating student" award from the Canadian Sociological Association. Recently, I began - and have decided to defer - a fully-funded DPhil in medical sociology at the University of Oxford. In addition to my academic background, I have worked with various non-profits and social enterprises as a project coordinator, where I have designed and led needs assessment studies of the income generating behaviours of socioeconomically marginalized populations. I have also been responsible for writing and presenting policy briefs to leaders of other non-profits as well as city officials.
