The Effect of Artificial Islands’ Morphology on Economic, Social, and Environmental Sustainability

The indirect and (in some cases) the direct relation between the massive artificial islands’ morphology and their own sustainability is stated through many factors such as the relation between the terraformed land and the underwater environment, the minimization of risk for the underwater flora and fauna by reducing the ration between the water and the rainbowed lands in a certain location, among other factors.

In the last two decades, massive artificial islands had been constructed intensively in the Middle East as mega urban developments. This research investigate the negative environmental Impacts caused by the establishment of these massive artificial islands. These negative impacts will be investigated according to the morphology of design and during the construction of the artificial islands and the construction of the urban fabric above the surface.
