A client contacted me telling me their website was down. When I investigated it it was found to be infected with malware caused by bad security on the website and outdated WordPress plugins.

I took a copy of the site from the hosting provider, set it up on my dev platform and went to work cleaning the site by:

* Removing all plugins and installing again from the official sources
* Removing all WordPress files and installing again from the official source
* Removing theme and installing from official source

I then made sure there was no other random files left around in the installation and set correct .htaccess rules so that no new files could be uploaded and executed.

I then performed a security audit on the list of users they had with access to the site and re-uploaded the site to their hosting provider. After testing I installed a security plugin and informed them what needed to be done each week to keep the site safe and secure.

Website cleanup from malware infection

A new client approached me after having a new website designed. It was performing badly in Google Webmaster Tools and PageSpeed Insights was loading extremely slowly.

I worked by optimising their site:

* Installed and configured a caching plugin, taking care to make sure all site features worked as expected
* Installed and configured a image optimisation plugin, checking the right optimisation was done so not to damage image quality
* Fine-tuned their WordPress and PHP setup.
* Removed unnecessary plugins and settings that were slowing the site down.

The client had previous scores of 22 for mobile and 15 for desktop - they now have 100 for mobile and 93 for desktop!

Result: Very happy client and very happy Google!

WordPress speed optimisation from zero to hero!

The client approached me for a new website as their current one wasn't mobile compatible and didn't showcase their work properly.

I worked with them to design initial page mockups and build their website from scratch using WordPress and a page builder of their choice. After a few different designs the client picked one and I built their site with a turnaround time of approx two weeks whilst they sourced content and worked on SEO.

The client, a company based in the USA had their website designed and was ready for launch. Unfortunately, the developer previously had not optimised any of the site at all and the results from PageSpeed Insights/GTMetrix were extremely poor.

I optimised the site by removing the unnecessary plugins and installing and configuring a caching plugin. Additionally, I optimised their images for them.

The client was thrilled with the work carried out and now hopefully Google will reward with a leap in the rankings for their speedy website!

Speed up and optimise eCommerce site

I was tasked with optimising and speeding up a WordPress cryptocurrency website.

I removed several plugins that were not contributing to the site and replaced others with newer, better plugins. I also optimised all the images and installed and configured a premium caching plugin.

The clients were happy with their new speedy website!

Crypto site speedup and optimisation

I was tasked with migrating this website and installing the latest version of WordPress on it and a new theme.

The site is a busy fashion site with over 100,000 viewers per week. I migrated the site across and 5Gb of images. I then upgraded WordPress and changed the theme to a new one as decided by my client. After I installed the theme and configured it I then completed all the SEO tasks that were needed and optimised the site for speed with a caching plugin. Additionally, I installed a security plugin and automated backups for the client.

The pandemic didn't help, but Chris was not punctual or professional and terminated the project mid-stream. I do believe he is technically very capable, however.
