Illustrate 3 Characters of 3 Scientists in a Lab

Contest Brief

I need the design of 3 characters, 2 male and 1 female.
They are some sort of scientists, they create puzzle games using different objects and materials. They make experiments to create the best puzzles and the best "wow" effects. They work in their "lab", where they invent, create and test the puzzle games. They are a bit "mad", always trying something new.
I need:
- One image of the 3 scientist in their lab
- One image for each of them without any background to be used in a web page which describes the team (a sort of "about us" page).
I would like the 3 characters to be very distinctive and characterized.
ONLY ORIGINAL WORK - NO COPY
I prefer cartoon or semi-cartoon style, 2D or 3D, but I'm really open to all suggestions. I attach a few example of similar characters I like, but as previously written I need original work.
The winner will be assigned other future works because I will need other images of the same characters in other settings and making some specific actions. Of course these will be paid separately with separate projects and will be assigned when need will arise.

    Also, what age group(s) do you want the characters to appeal to?
