Contest Brief
I am moving into a new apartment and I need help figuring out:
1) layout of living room furniture
2) professional interior design mockups/ideas for the living room and bedroom (couches, table, chairs, TV stand, wall hangings, rug, accent tables, plants, throw pillows/blankets, lamps, etc).
You can start from scratch using any size/type/style of furniture you want. I am willing to buy furniture to fit the space. But please make sure the furniture you choose is similar to common sizes/styles sold at major retailers so if I like what you chose I can actually find and buy a similar piece of furniture online.
In the living/dining space, I would ideally like to have a dining table that can seat 4-6 and living room space with flat screen TV on the south wall adjacent to the windows. If there's a way to comfortably include a very small desk/workstation somewhere that would be ideal as well, but not at the expense of the style and comfort of the room.
Bedroom will have a king size bed, ideally on a bed frame, or at least with a headboard. Should include dresser and side tables at a minimum. She likes lavender colors for the bedroom. The dresser is the only piece of furniture that is definitely staying. We have this IKEA Hemnes dresser: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60381737/
Be aware, there are NO LIGHTS in the living room or bedroom. Please be sure to include lamps to adequately light the dining/living room and bedroom.
In terms of style, my wife likes pottery barn style living spaces. Warm, homey feeling with tones of beige and brown. She prefers lighter tone over darker tone colors. She does NOT like modern furnishings. I attached some sample living rooms designs to show you some styles she likes (these are not for layout ideas).
There's stainless steel appliances in the kitchen and hardwood oak plank floors. The walls and ceiling are painted white. Not planning to repaint them since it's a rental apartment.
I have attached a rough 3D model that I made of what the apartment looks like, as well as some actual pictures from inside the living room (the flooring in the picture will be replaced with oak plank floors). The floorplan is also attached. The living room designs attached are NOT for layout purposes, but so you can see the general type of pottery-barn style my wife likes. Please let me know if you need anything else.
