In most cases the appraised value of the donation is substantially more than asking Retail, or Trade in values.
Example # 1, 2007 FOURWINDS RV – 3 Slides -V10 New Retail Value $115,000.00
The RV sat in storage with 14,000 miles – The owner couldn’t sell for $35,000 .00 By donating to the Boys Ranch Support Program . The donor received a tax credit for the appraised value of $69,000.00. The Non Profit Boys Ranch continues to receive the benefit of use.
Example #2 2006 Adam A 500 twin engine Airplane
Cost New @ $1.100,000.00 - Because the factory closed the value was reduced to $150,000.00 , but the Donor received a Tax Credit for the current appraised value at the time of $650,000.00 plus $300,000.00 for replacement parts for a total Tax Benefit of $ 950,000.00. The airplane was ultimately sold for $150,000.00 benefit to the non-profits.
Example # 3 Cars and other items consistently have a higher retail book value as a DONATION than price they can receive trying to personally sell or the low trade in value. A great value all dealers of cars,boats,airplanes, RV’s Motorcycles ,farm equipment etc. can offer their clients especially for the trade-ins they actually don’t want . A winning solution for all.
