Contest Brief

Laparoscopic surgery, also called minimally invasive surgery (MIS), bandaid surgery, or keyhole surgery, is a modern surgical technique in which operations are performed far from their location through small incisions (usually 0.5–1.5 cm) elsewhere in the body.

There are a number of advantages to the patient with laparoscopic surgery versus the more common, open procedure. Pain and hemorrhaging are reduced due to smaller incisions and recovery times are shorter. The key element in laparoscopic surgery is the use of a laparoscope, a long fiber optic cable system which allows viewing of the affected area by snaking the cable from a more distant, but more easily accessible location.

Laparoscopes, however, often get dirty and blocked with bodily fluids and fats during surgery and lose their optical clarity. This results in the Surgeon having to interrupt the procedure to clean the laparoscopic camera.

ClearCam is a medical device company that produces a simple and effective device to clean the laparoscopic camera without stopping or interrupting the surgery. Through the use of a simple sleeve that fits over the scope and mechanically cleans the camera ClearCam reduces surgical times thereby shortening patient anesthesia times, increasing surgical efficiency, and reducing the risk of surgical complications. ClearCam benefits patients, doctors, and hospitals.

ClearCam requires:

1. Company Logo and ID including- all logo formats (color, B&W, inverse, transparent, graphic only, text only)
2. Brand Identity- fonts and colors used to create a consistent brand design narrative for use in presentations and marketing material.
3. Business Card Design

Design Directive

1. The design should be contemporary, simple, and clean. This should reflect ClearCam's sleek, surgical, efficient, and effective characteristics.
2. No cartoon-like designs please. This is a medical device company and must convey the values of professionalism, performance, reliability, and efficiency.
3. A logo that has a text element and a graphic element that can be seperated for individual use as well. The graphic element should be individual and unique.
4. Color palette : light blue, silver, black material palette: steel, glass, light
