I'm writing a non-fiction self-help book about eliminating self-doubt. (Impostor Syndrome) It's called "Pushing the Envelope: How smart people defeat self-doubt and live with bold enthusiasm". I am using an aerospace/aviation theme throughout the book because I am a former NASA jet engine researcher. "Pushing the envelope" is an aeronautics term referring to running an aircraft or aircraft engine beyond it's normal operating limit to determine a new limit. I don't have a clear idea what I want for the cover, not sure I need an image or not. For images, I do like fighter jet aircraft, jet engines, test control room scene, sky, engineering diagrams, runway, supersonic flight, ...technical things like that. I like bold colors, not too much pastel. No pink. The target audience is smart, educated and influential people, because they carry a lot of self doubt and don't think they're all that smart. I do not want anything too girly or feminine, or soft. No flowers or girls or puppies. :) The book will be 5.5" x 8.5", but I don't know how thick the spine will be. I need front and back cover done. Please ask questions if you need clarification! (My name is Maureen Zappala)

I welcome ideas without images as well. Please put some thought and time into it. Many submissions look like something I could have done with clipart and bold font. I'm looking for something more professional than what I could do.
