Contest Brief

I am looking for someone to redesign a logo for a running race that we produce called the Pumpkin Pie 5K/10K. Attached is the current logo. The race takes place in Denver, CO around Thanksgiving and the race website is www.pumpkinpie5k.com. I am looking for something a little bit more modern and fun. I prefer a horizontal format (width larger than height) but will consider and options.
