Design a Logo for a new jewellery wholesale business
- Status: Closed
- Prize: $100
- Entries Received: 89
- Winner: SophieAinsel
Contest Brief
I need a logo designed for a new business. This will also include the following
- a website logo
- a logo / design for business cards (printing)
- a website banner
- a selection of a few complimentary colours (websafe)
Please provide a number of logo images (PNG) and also transparent (GIF) at various sizes including say
- 80 pixels (high)
- 100 pixels (high)
- 120 pixels (high)
- 140 pixels (high)
- 160 pixels (high)
- 180 pixels (high)
- 200 pixels (high)
And also a high quality image for printing.
The banner should be 1920 pixels wide.
Expected logo will look very similar (almost identical) to the mock-up provided in the attached file.
- This is not a terribly creative competition.
- This type of hammer is called a fretz chasing hammer.
- This hammer has a particular application for jewellery.
- The colour of the handle should be a darker timber similar to the image sample provided
- The company will be called "CJS" and these initials should appear to be "engraved" or "stamped" into the hammer head.
- Non-specific about the style of "font" because it should appear as a "3D" engraving / stamping
- Note also the "GRS" hammer image which has a circle around the initial on the handle
The concept is that the engraved initials / should appear as a Jewellers "hallmark".
Want the original photoshop file as well please.
The name and address, email etc for the contact details for the business card will be provided.

Hello everyone - thank you ever so much for your feedback. I will be meeting Steve tonight to decide (in Sydney). I am astonished at how good these are. Steve has a business partner he needs to consult with as well. So the decision is largely a team decision. Most of the ratings are mine, so Steve (or his wife or partner) may disagree with my views.

Hello all, great entries, I just spent a while with my friend who owns the company and we have provided feedback. Sophie has almost nailed it but some of the other designs have design elements which are also attractive. Unless someone else comes up wit a sensational design in the next few hours Sophie is the winner.

Contest holder should check properly. I checked and still think you have used almost same font as mine. I don't say you saw my entry before you submit yours. Don't doubt you. If contest holder will not check , I will ask freelancer team to check.

Very important that the logo appears to be a "hallmark" i.e. engraved or "punched" into metal.

Some of the designs were considered to look either "nautical" or the "oak leaves" were a bit too premium - also undesirable
- 8 years ago
-
Contest Holder - 8 years ago
Some of the logo designs had a "Diamond" shape which is undesirable - this is more relevant to gemstone type jewellers.

Hi Sophie, Great designs. For the logo just the top of the handle. I am doing this for a friend (his business not mine). Your design looks fantastic. He liked the orientation of the hammer with the handle going off the left hand side of the business card or website. That keeps it small and square. Very similar to the one I mocked up roughly and posted. But for the website banner it might be good to have a version with the handle included. Your second design is not the right type of hammer.

Thank you very much, so I will use the first hammer and try to put it on some business cards just to see how it will look.
