Contest Brief

Project Title: Drawing Cartoons

- I am looking for a talented artist who can draw cartoons for 8-12 page pocket size comic books.
- The cartoon will be mass printed in black, with only a colored cover.
- I have a series of cartoons that I need to be drawn, and I am willing to pay for each individual cartoon.
- The cartoons will tell a fable called "The Bell" about a young person in a kingdom who angers the king. Then magical angels appear and give everyone bells. I can finish the booklet myself, but just need some cartoon drawings to capture the reader's attention:

- Here is an outline: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxUDFnKKox0

I will add images from my sketchbook as attachments. (Note, the QR code part which I mentioned before was too confusing.) This is a story that introduces the concept of blockchain.

Description of Images:

This is sad, the platform should do something to stop AI SPAM when it is totally unnecessary.

Perhaps some kind of petition could be raised by contributors to this (and other freelance) sites to control the excessive (spamming), or even the whole format, use of aI generated submissions.

Wow, what interesting responses. I think the main thing to understand is that I intend to figure out how to cheaply mass produce my own version of the "Chick Tract" format. https://chick.com So the images of the hand with the bell for the cover with the simple text that mimic the actual religious tracts are good. One color. The body will likely be 100% black and white and printed as cheaply as possible. So AI generated art probably wouldn't make sense.

Having said that, I do believe that at least one useful AI/eastern image may be worth copying: The meta-image of comic with QR code where the phone appears to come from the bottom right of the image and is to instruct the reader to similarly pull out their phone and scan the code. After all, the story never ends in any normal way...because the cartoon pamphlet itself "is" the bell, just as the original Chick Religious pamphlets were all stamped with the address of some local church.

I bought a huge gridded sketch book and brought together some ideas. I drew the inside of a carriage with cut-outs for the windows. In this, the girl is both holding the bell and the Knight has gotten the bell from her, but nevermind. These are just ideas. Also, a bit of black screen at the middle as I flip the page.

If you want to have drawings done by hand, eliminate the work done with artificial intelligence and you can get the result you want better. I'm currently undecided about participating in this contest. I don't want to waste my efforts.

I do hope you participate. This is my first attempt at hiring an artist. I don't want an AI generated story. I now have a concrete story and have included it in a video.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxUDFnKKox0

This showcases my own drawings, which I obviously don't want to use.

Dear CONTEST HOLDER: did you NOTICE that nearly ALL ENTRIES look the same? that's how AI generates images, sourced from existing libraries ( robots don't draw anything ); hence they are horrible, generic, no personality at all ..... is that what you want?

Yes, don't want pictures that seem to glorify the QR code itself in a tightly packed city scene of bedazzled people.

I laid out the idea that I want to expand on. If I can get at least a few frames of that, that would be good. In this youtube video, I describe a small "8-pager" comic book called "The Bell":

OK guys. Yes I want hand drawings. They don't have to be dense. I have no idea what Freelancer does or doesn't do about AI. I just liked some images that were close to my ideas. This is for an actual printed "8-pager". The phone generally only shows the QR code briefly and then takes you to a site. The idea is to get people to use the pamphlet as a gateway. The story is that you are able to meet other "Web3" people without having to use google, facebook, twitter/x, etc. And that they are a sort of comic villian that the comic book/QR code/phone allows you to defeat. It is a story of the little guys finding each other with the little books. Maybe the story can be told with no words.

I am looking for people for the long haul that can draw little cartoon books. I am in no way an "evangelical Christian", yet find the little "tract" cartoons of my childhood to be strangely compelling. Check out "chick dot com". The idea is that the story would describe a "Web3" use case. Maybe:

    1. person has an idea and advertise in Web2.
    2. they have no leverage.
    3. then they find the actual cartoon book itself and scan a website from QR code.
    4. next they see some sort of abstract Web3 graphics.
    5. From here they would transition to the phone (or computer). Some cartoons would then appear on the site.

Story needs to grab attention, emotionally connect with Web2 frustration, and funnel people to online Web3 site.

Dear competition owner, do you want the work to be done by artificial intelligence, or do you prefer the work done manually and with labor? If you prefer artificial intelligence, you can create artificial intelligence studies yourself using the money you spent on the competition. You won't waste your money. If you do not support artificial intelligence studies, please review the profiles and portfolios of the studies you gave 5 stars to see whether they have the potential to do this.
