Expertise in Statistical Predictive Modeling

Contest Brief

As an individual seeking assistance in Probability and Statistics, I am particularly keen to explore Predictive Modeling.

This project holds an open avenue for seasoned professionals looking to utilize and demonstrate their skills in a comprehensive and enlightening way.

Here is the question

John is standing at door X there is a door Y which is 10 stairs up from X and door Z which is 10 stairs down from X

John will either enter door Y or Z and each step is 1 point, e.g he can go directly to Y or He can go up and down the steps as many times as he likes randomly for example he can go 8 steps down, 9 steps up before entering one of the doors

Each step is 1 point, for John’s every step we guess correctly we get 1 point out aim is to have maximum points before John enters Y or Z

We can change our guess 3 times only.

What should be our approach so that we will always guess the correct door?

    This is a bit confusing.

"Each step is 1 point, for John’s every step we guess correctly we get 1 point "

Who will determine that the step is correctly guessed? So that we can get 1 point and maximize it?
