Contest Brief

I have a small film series that needs to have a visually cool looking art illustration / image for the film’s poster. I would like this poster to be an illustration, very stylized and moody. Please use the following image as your master reference, as it is the artwork we are currently using for the film series: https://goo.gl/P1yqRy Note: this is of a woman’s face, BUT I need this new version to be a MALE ASIAN face.

The visual concept of this poster would include the following:
1. Closeup of Asian man face with dark round sunglasses looking at viewer. I want the face to be mysterious, moody, partially in shadow so that it is hard to tell who the man is (mysterious).
2. The image / illustration looks to be at night, maybe along a city street or alleyway (Blurred background).

I have attached a reference photo of one our our male actors that you can use as a visual reference / style guide. I have also attached a JPEG image (blurred background photo of Hong Kong) that can be used, if desired as a background for the illustration of the Asian man with dark, round sunglasses. Another comment, the man needs to look ATTRACTIVE, but mysterious (only the city elements would be dirty, gritty, if added to the illustration). Probably best NOT to make him photo-realistic, but rather like a drawing. Keep the lens on the eyeglasses small, as the small rounded dark lens give the man a more smart look (which I prefer).

Summary: The short film series has a revolving cast of young actors with the storylines dealing with lifestyle issues in Hong Kong. Basically the film poster illustration would reflect a dystopian mood of a man in a gritty, dark Asian city. Also the film’s title would be display somewhere in the lower third area of the poster image. This illustration would be used on Amazon.com for the film’s thumbnail image / poster art, thus it is important that the illustration is a closeup of the Asian man’s face since these thumbnails can be rather small. Overall visual style is to be dark and moody. Illustration art size: 2400x3200 pixels in PNG or JPEG format.
