Contest Brief

UPDATE: We want an iconic logo that is simple but recognizable. Think Apple, Google, Nike, McDonald’s, Facebook. They all have wordmarks, but they also have icons that they use that are roughly equal width and height that can be used as standalone marketing for their brand (like in app icons or favicons on web tabs for instance). Ideally, any new submissions we receive should consist of an icon on the left side and a matching wordmark on the right side.

We need a logo design for a new real estate development company called “Ryan & Vasek Development” based in Houston, Texas. We will initially do residential developments, but plan to expand into commercial and mixed-use developments in the future so we need our logo to be flexible. I'd like our logo to convey competence, class, and success but I want it to also be warm and inviting enough to convey a sense of home. For colors, I'm preferential to something natural, especially earth tones or a color that occurs commonly in building products. Design-wise, I'd like the logo to either be simplistic/minimalistic, or to appear to be in some state of construction itself. I'm also open to unique concepts that break away from one or more of the criteria I've mentioned as long as it conveys our purpose and is versatile for use in long-term branding across all typical media types.

    Good day everyone.

    For those sending in new submissions please do not send anything with houses, they will be rejected.

    Also, what we really want to see are simple iconic logos that have similar widths and heights. So more or less square or circular in nature. Think about Apple’s logo, or Google’s famous “G”, or Nike’s swoosh, or McDonald’s arches. They are all simple, recognizable, and show up well on all types of media. I’d appreciate if you can provide designs with this sort of logo to the left and a matching-style wordmark on the right.

    I’d like to see some simpler logo designs to go along with the ones we’ve already received. Below, I’m including some links to companies in our industry that we’d like to emulate. Several of them use simple icons along with text that gives them brand recognition and versatility. Others just use unique font design for their logos with no other icons.
