Contest Brief
We currently have 2 very successful Asian drink and dessert shops called "nu" located in Texas (USA), with innovative desserts and drinks. We have an existing logo, but we're re-branding ourselves. We have hired designers in the past but weren't satisfied with their designs. If we get a new logo from you that satisfies our board of directors, your designed logo will be printed on all our drink & dessert cups, store walls, and exterior store signs. That's literally MILLIONS of people seeing your logo each year! NO JOKE. We are NOT a startup. We are an ALREADY thriving company. We have plans to open multiple more locations (possibly internationally) in the future, so this logo is VERY important and if your design wins, you will get LOTS MORE recognition being the designer.
Tons of people from all ages love our fun drinks (teas and smoothies with customizable options) and extraordinary shaved ice. I have included images of some of our products.
As one of the owners, after much thought, I have decided I wanted a logo of my wife for the corporate logo.
Why my wife? Over the decades, I have never met someone like my wife. She is smart, happy, spunky, quirky, overflowing with life and has an adventurous spirit. She's real. She brightens up your day when you're around her. Likewise, with each of our drinks and desserts we aim to give people a refreshing breathe of air, something exciting & "new". I wish every guy had a wife as awesome as my wife, and every woman had a friend as refreshing as her... But that's not possible, so we hope they get that same experience with each of our products, and when they visit one of our locations.
Nu is a play on the word "new", as our drinks and desserts are refreshingly different.
REQUIREMENTS:
- logo should give you the feelings: "refreshing dose of joy", "refreshing", "like-able", "bold", "spunky", "adventurous", "cute", & "family friendly".
- girl logo must be work well as a stand alone logo placed on cups, on storefronts etc... (look @"nu-PutLogo.." file)
- please have "smart" GLASSES on the girl in the logo (don't have to be same exact glasses as the ones in attached photo)
- for cups we are thinking of 2 different options:
1) either your logo in front of our "nu" on the cups
OR
2) just your girl logo on the cups front & center
- For color guide, please look at "Nu-NewLogoInfo.jpg" and ""Nu-colors.png" file.
- We were thinking the girl might fit if she was framed in a shape (ie: circle, or squarish shape, etc..), but we're open
- must be millennial friendly but have wide appeal for all ages, all ethnicities, etc.
- Less is more here. SIMPLE MINIMALISTIC CLEAN design preferred,
- I have enclosed 2 pics of my wife for reference (file wifePhoto.jpg). We don't want just an exact sketch of the photo. Use the photos as INSPIRATION, and incorporate the feeling we want into a FLAT logo of a girl. (feel free to tastefully add arms, hand gestures, more of her body, or spunk not found in photos, etc... to get desired effect).
- LESS is more here. The simpler the logo that captures all the feelings we want the better!
- Based upon some initial thoughts we think a "cartooned" or "flat" logo inspired by my wife might work best. But if you have other ideas, feel free to submit.
- Please look at included files carefully. Some important info in the images.
- This girl logo plus "NU ice & drinks" line will be written on top of store locations. I have enclosed a sample storefront for you to place logo on. (file: Nu-PutLogoOnThese.jpg)
- "ice & drinks" tagline should be SEPARATE from the logo design
We must get a VECTOR scalable file. No raster files. We have quite high standards, but the rewards for the winner is TONS! Good luck!

Hello all, a lot of the designs look very complicated still. Too many thin lines. The simpler the better. Avoid thin lines. This logo needs to have THICK lines where possible, easily seen and identified from far away, like 50 ft. away across the street (if on building).
