I would like to have designed the electronics, programme and hardware to control 2, 12volt solenoids so that when a light gate or proximity switch is activated 1of the solenoids activates while the other is switched off.
This is to operate a small knife which cuts off paste being extruded on to a conveyor belt, the positioning of the light gate / proxy switch will determine the length which is cut off.
Note. The intention is for the knife to cut in each direction
e.g. Extruded paste reaches proxy switch, solenoid 1 is switched off and solenoid 2 is simultaneously switched on, knife cuts paste, when the paste has gone past the proxy switch the knife remains in the same position until the paste has reached the proxy switch again at which point solenoid 1 is switched on and solenoid 2 is switched off knife cuts paste again but in the other [url removed, login to view] conveyor runs faster than the paste is being extruded so once cut the extrusion separates leaving a gap in the paste.
