I want a program that will map out a website's backlinks (what's linking to what site). ? So we have the target site - it will VISUALLY show another site (site A) that links to the target site and will also show sites that are linking to Site A, and so on and so forth. ? It will show this visually - via a map of some sort with arrows pointing where the links are going to and coming from. ? It will ignore internal links... ? It will try to show the type of site (whether it's a bookmark site, if it's a comment on a blog, if it's a user profile, or if it doesn't know, perhaps just the favicon and the domain name of course) and the main domain url for all of them.
You will tell it how deep it should look. ? It can get the backlink information from Yahoo Site Explorer. ? Here's an image of another program that does this (but it does it manually, you have to add all the information manually). ? Go to: [url removed, login to view] to see the image of something similar.
I think it should be simple - you enter the URL, and it does it's work, and it then shows the visual map. ? You should be able to make edits as well as add your own sites that you know are linking but aren't showing up for whatever reason, and I want it to report total # of backlinks...
