New Logo For My YouTube Channel

I currently run a fairly popular YouTube channel about the paranormal, cryptids, UFO's, and conspiracies. The whole goal of my content is to provide the facts without sensationalizing material for the sake of views. I provide the history of an area, the reported sightings, and most importantly leave the decision of if it is real or fake up to my viewers.
As for my project I currently have the two images below as logos for my channel. The dog with the hockey mask is predominately shown on my videos and is of my creation. The channels logo is the one of the wolf and that is where I am running into trouble. Way back when I utilized it the image was marked as free to use by anybody but now I am seeing versions of it everywhere. So much so that one person on Deviant Art is claiming the original as their own work. I haven't had any issues in using it to date but I want to proactively make it different so it I can claim it solely as my own. I want to keep the ice wolf aspects but I need something different.
