I have seen a similar question in this site, so I will copy and paste most of it with a few additions;
I have a website with around 5 thousands registered users. I would like to provide users with Viber, WeChat like app. I am planning to create it from scratch. I am planning to have main site in UK with possibility of expansion to US. The end users have their own devices e.g. Iphone, Android or Windows phones, they all don’t work for the same company. While I understand some of the technical details behind Mobile App development, I do not have much technical documents for the background architecture and I am seeking freelancers to provide this information as detailed as possible.
For this project what I am interested to know what is the background architecture for Viber and WeChathow? I need to know how they work technically. Mainly Viber.
I need the article to include illustrative images, Visio diagrams, possibly videos and Hardware required for a group of 5 thousand people. The technical reference document should allow flexibility for more users and mobile cross platform architecture and site expansion.
Project plans is to have technical plan to understand the background architecture, user base expandability, Hardware, Site expandability, Open Source and Android mobile app development.
Some of the important questions are;
What kind of servers do they use in background?
What hardware do I need to accommodate 5K people?
Can you provide an architecture where I can expand?
Can you also mainly include Open source software which is open to development?
How do they send and receive, calls, texts, images and videos?
What are the storage requirements?
How does location services work on mobile phones?
How can we have good quality voice communication between users?
Please note that, I am mainly interested in the background architecture, flexibility and the cost.
I am not asking to create an environment for me, I am asking for a step by step project plan to create a mobile app for my users with hardware and software prices.
