Fix bug in Android Application (Viewpagers/ Fragments/ Master-detail

My current app:
- Three Fragments in a ViewPager (Fragment 1, Fragment 2 and Fragment 3)
- The third Fragment uses the Master-detail template except I use only one Activity instead of the two used in the template
- In Fragment 3, when an item is clicked in the RecycleView list it replaces Fragment 3 with Fragment 4
Bug: The code works perfectly in Portrait mode but not Landscape mode. When clicking an item in the RecycleView it does NOT load Fragment 4. I believe I know why this is happening but I do not know how to fix it.
