I have a Magento website that produces 504 gateway errors on some pages - specifically login, product detail views (when logged in), and checkout (when logged in). It also has issues responding on call backs from our payment provider producing 'TransportError:GwHttpsTransport:Communication error timed out' errors. Joomla throughs errors on the callback page that look like this:

My host tells me that there may be a requirement for some optimisation work on the scripts and Magento itself to prevent this happening. This means I need an expert to:
1. Review the Magento website and suggest fixes
2. Review the code to see if it can be written more efficiently
3. Report on your suggested fixes
2. Once I approve the fixes you need to implement them
I'm looking for much more than "move the site to a dedicated server", "delete the log files" or stuff like that.
The project will only be seen as a success once the errors stop appearing. I want a fixed price to investigate, report and resolve these errors.
