Modern design
Back end must be able to maintain inventory via [login to view URL] account. Will require a database that is easily scalable.
Paypal based shopping cart ordering system
- Drop down for shipping options (Media $3.99, Expedited $6.99, Overnight $35; Each extra item is $1.99 for media, $4.99 for expedited, not available for overnight; International Expedited $13.99, extra items $13.99 per item)
- Checkbox for $1 extra delivery confirmation (not available for international orders)
- Orders $25+ qualify for free gift (option must be available to turn off and on, but when on it should be highlighted on the checkout screen)
- Paypal receipt for customer, email for Carpe
Search function on home page (simplified search available on all other pages)
- Multi option search by Title, Author, ISBN, Pub Date range, Dollar range
- Smaller range search (Title, Author) on other pages “Quick Search??
Front page will feature books rotated from the inventory and will pull stock photos from Amazon or Half along with the book synopsis (if available) and discount books 20%
- Top 10 of random ISBN books prominently displayed
- Books will rotate daily
- Prices will have red strikeout with discounted price next to it
Books will be divided into as many categories as possible and one category will be a “SALE?? area where prices are reduced by 25%. These books in the sale area will rotate daily and will be non-ISBN books that are not listing on Amazon.
- Categories divided by Amazon standards
- Sale area will rotate 250-500 books daily
- Prices will have red strikeout with lower prices beside it
Ad spaces on pages, with back end that will make upload and run times simple to control
- 3-4 ad spaces; one large banner at top, 2-3 right side small banners
- uploads with “choose file?? line, run time (in days) entry box, countdown timer or expiry time.
- Ad purchaser will get email about ad expiration 24hrs beforehand
Ad space purchases can be made via the website
- User must register as an ad purchaser
- Same Paypal checkout
- Option screen for which ad space, prices, ad run time dropdown
Blog area
Store area for selling branded merchandise
Users must register to save shipping addresses and to denote Ad Buyers/Book Customers
- User Login, Logout, “Welcome…??
- “Want?? lists can be compiled once logged in, view recent orders, etc.
Users can create “want?? lists with prices. “Want?? lists will be stored and compared to inventory.
- Option for users to be emailed with possible matches
