Creating a spec for software that moves document-centric XML into a relational database, maintains the XML in that database and allows the extraction of the original XML from that database. The 'how to' is outlined in a readable patent application: [login to view URL] [login to view URL] Attached is also a very rough and totally incomplete beginning of a spec. It is possible that the writer of the spec would do the coding as well for further consideration (payment). The application is to be created in Visual Studio .Net (C#). We want to sell the resulting software commercially. We want to create software that does the following: The enduser has a potentially large number of possibly very complex XML files. These files should be broken up as per the MALTbase specifications into chunks that are stored as fields and records which are stored in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later. The first part of the software should be a web application that handles the breakup of the XML files and the reversing of the process (records to XML files). The second part of the software should be a client-server web application that allows the enduser to maintain the XML data (via programs or editors like XMetal) that is now stored in SQL Server. The main issue here is that the integrity of the DTD/Schema is maintained. Operations required are update/insert/delete of chunks and groups of related chunks. The first part of the software can be a special case (mass Insert) of the second part.
## Deliverables
Complete specifications so that an experienced programmer with reasonable experience in XML, RDBMS and C# can write the software. The budget is US$2,000 and we expect that 80 or more hours are spent writing the specification. Extensive communication between the writer and Christoph Schnelle at TimeBase will be required before and during the writing of the spec. The spec should be of such quality and depth that an experienced third party would agree "that a good system analyst has spent at least 80 productive hours on the composition of the spec". Complete copyrights to all work purchased.
