Wordpress media folder in external server

Our site was too heavy so we moved media folder to external server. we are using vps for both (wordpress and media)
We succeed to transfer media to external folder and site is displaying images from external server.
Issue here is , we are unable to upload image in external server. May be some authentication issue.
Developer who has an experience in external server setup can do this job easily. We will give development server to test and then we will move settings to live site.
