Students will perform a brand audit identifying their favorite brands in at least three different product categories. The assignment is to identify favorite brands and explain rationale for their selection. The audit will be presented in a slide presentation including presenter [login to view URL] audit will be based an in-depth, self analysis of why the student has, and has developed, their brand preference. Thus, the emphasis will be on critical thinking about how the student, as a consumer, thinks, feels, or otherwise interacts with the product or service.
As appropriate, the student will use information from public secondary sources and company web sites. Surveys and primary research are encouraged but not required; as it relates to either (1) exploring the students “reasons” for brand preference or (2) the perspective of how another person shares or contrasts in their relationship to the brand.
The following components and issues will be addressed:
Student personal consumption history with the brand
The rationale for student loyalty.
Strategies the brand has undertaken over its history that influenced student loyally
